Our Club Song

TAKE ME HOME SYLVAN ROAD

Western Districts Rugby Union

I remember the years of playing football

Oh the Bickley, trophies on the wall

Gathering round the house we call the Kennel standing tall

Take me home, Sylvan Road

To the place, I belong

Western Districts Rugby Union

Take me home, Sylvan Road

All my memories gather round me

Familiar faces, friends and family

Almost heaven, is the game of rugby

When I get there I’ll be in my Bulldogs jersey

Take me home, Sylvan Road

To the place, I belong

Western Districts Rugby Union

Take me home, Sylvan Road

I hear the howling of the Bulldogs at the Kennel

The goal posts they remind of the game I love to play

And walking down Sylvan Road

I get a feeling that I just played here yesterday

Take me home, Sylvan Road

To the place, I belong

Western Districts Rugby Union

Take me home, Sylvan Road

Take me home, Sylvan Road

To the place, I belong

Western Districts Rugby Union

Take me home, Sylvan Road

Take me home, Sylvan Road

Take me home, Sylvan Road

An Ode to Western Districts Rugby Football Club

Beneath Memorial Hill we stand,

The green and gold Bulldog is our brand.

Teams who come they feel the pain,

Of Bulldog rugby off the chain.

On Sylvan Road you’ll find our park,

We love the Kennel after dark.

Where in one voice we love to howl,

Go the Bulldogs, go the growl.

Old Boys Day Dedication

In seventy-seven we won the cup,

Stan Pilecki bashed Brothers up!

As Bulldogs we had come of age,

A premiership win for the history page.

The grand final dream was kept alive,

With a University defeat in eighty-five.

Doctor Campbell, Gardener and co.,

Lane and Smith and Gould on show.

Premiership wins are hard to fix,

We had to wait till two thousand and six.

Another doctor led the way,

The day John Roe taught the Filth to play.

Players now they look to the past,

At a Bulldog spirit hard and fast.

Sci-fleet Stadium our new abode,

We welcome you home, to Sylvan Road.
