Calling all Scotney, Normanby and Wyatt Cup players.

QSRU Representative Team Training
(For curtain raiser to Wallabies v Wales Test)

Players seeking selection in the 2012 Queensland Suburban Rugby Union Representative Team are invited to attend open training sessions to be held at 7.00pm – 8.30pm on Ballymore Field 2, commencing on Monday 30 April 2012.  Players from any club currently involved in the Barber, Pegg, Scotney, Normanby and Wyatt Cup competitions are eligible for nomination and selection.  All players seeking selection, even those unable to train, must attend the open training sessions to be considered.

After the second training session on Monday 7 May a train-on squad will be named. The commitment expected of selected players will be training sessions on Monday nights at Ballymore between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

The QSRU Representative Team will play a number of games during 2012.  The main focus of the representative calendar is the annual Barraclough Shield game against New South Wales , to be played as the curtain raiser to the Wallabies v Wales Test in Sydney on Saturday 23 June.  This game will be held on a competition bye weekend to avoid key players being missing for competition games.

Other representative games to be played by the QSRU Representative Team in 2012 include:

City v Country – in Goondiwindi (July date TBC)

Clubs are now requested to inform players of the open training sessions.
