Wests Bulldogs Rugby Union are proud to support the family and nephew of one of our players, Jay Staunton.
Jay’s nephew, Jack, was born in March this year and has not left hospital since. Having been born in Canberra and then swiftly flown to Sydney’s Westmead Children’s Hospital due to a congenital heart defect,
Jack has fought tooth and nail since just to stay with us. His mother Kim has had to move to Sydney to be with Jack. His father Rob travels between Canberra and Sydney at least twice a week, whilst working full time and supporting his family. While older brother Charlie, still a toddler himself, is having to travel between the two cities to see his parents.
In true Bulldogs spirit, we want to do everything possible to help the family and have decided to auction this Indigenous jersey from Wests 2016 season. It is the only jersey to be auctioned. The jersey was originally raffled at Wests Presentation Night and won by Linda Bennetts; however, after hearing about the cause, she has kindly decided to give the jersey back to Wests so that we can auction the jersey and raise more funds for the Staunton family.
Thank you Linda and thank you all in advance for your bids and support of this incredibly worthy cause.
