What is Rugby? 

Rugby is a team sport that builds fitnessconfidence, and friendships. At Wests, we focus on skill developmentsafety, and belonging for every child—whether they’re new or returning.

Beginners’ Pathway (What to Expect)

  • Puppy Pack & Minis (U6–U11): Fun, modified rules, lots of ball‑in‑hand skills, and supervised sessions.
  • U12–U16 & Junior Colts: Progressive contact skills, grading for fairness and safety, and structured coaching.
  • Girls Rugby: Dedicated Wednesdays training with XVs & 7s seasons; welcoming to first‑timers.
  • Modified Rugby: Tailored support for neurodiverse players—come and try in a supportive environment.

Safety, Coaches & Support

  • Accredited coaches using age‑appropriate activities.
  • Emphasis on safe technique, controlled progressions, and positive culture.
  • First Aid & medical support present at games/training.

Your First Month (4 simple steps)

  1. Register in Rugby Xplorer
  2. Meet the Team at your age‑group training night
  3. Learn the Basics (passing, evasion, safe tackling for older ages)
  4. Play & Belong — expect friendly fixtures and lots of help from coaches/managers

Game Day Checklist

  1. Arrive 30–45 mins early
  2. Water bottle & mouthguard packed
  3. Check field map and kick‑off time
  4. Quick warm‑up with your team
  5. Smile—you’re a Bulldog!

Register now in 7-steps

1. Login in to the Rugby Xplorer or create an account if you’re new to rugby.

2. Click the Register Tab

3. Select “Find a Club” & Choose your child (or link a new person)

4. Search “Wests Bulldogs Rugby (Juniors)”

5. Choose your child’s role, registration type and season

6. Enter the required details. including your child’s correct height and weight

7. Proceed to payment and complete the registration.
