QRU SAFEGUARDING PROJECT
Under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Queensland), organisations that provide services or spaces for children under 18 must implement Queensland’s 10 Child Safe Standards.
OUR ENDORsEMENT
Wests Bulldogs Rugby Union Club is committed to upholding the highest standards of child safety and wellbeing in accordance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and relevant state legislation. The safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children and young people are paramount in all aspects of our operations.
Our Coaches, Managers, Volunteers, and Club Leaders are responsible for fostering a child-safe culture that is underpinned by strong leadership, accountability, and continuous vigilance. The Wests Bulldogs leadership team actively champions child safety, ensuring that it is embedded across all levels of the organisation and reflected in our policies, practices, and behaviours, thereby minimising the risk of harm.
We recognise that safeguarding children and young people is a shared responsibility. Accordingly, all members of the Wests community are expected to model appropriate conduct and actively contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children feel respected, valued, and protected.
In line with our safeguarding obligations, all Coaches, Managers, and Volunteers are required to:
- Hold a current and valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check);
- Be appropriately registered through RA's Rugby Explorer system in their designated role; and
- Maintain the relevant qualifications and accreditations applicable to the age group they support.
Wests Bulldogs Rugby Union Club is dedicated to continuous improvement in child safeguarding practices and to ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and governing body requirements.
