BEGINNERS' PATHWAYS
Joining a club can be a daunting process, with our friendly coaches and staff, Wests aims to create a welcoming environment for our juniors to thrive. With that in mind, here's what to expect when playing rugby at Wests Bulldogs for the first time.

Puppy Pack & Minis
For U6-U11, the Puppy pack focuses on fun, modified rules, lots of ball‑in‑hand skills, and supervised sessions. With mixed girls and boys.

U12–U16 & Junior Colts
Here we focus on progressive contact skills, grading for fairness and safety, with structured coaching and games.

Girls rugby
Dedicated Wednesday's training for girls 12 years and older with XV's & 7's seasons; welcoming to first‑timers.

Modified Rugby Program
Tailored support for neurodiverse players to come and try rugby in a supportive environment.
Joining the club
In your first month at Wests you should:
Register via Rugby Xplorer
Meet the Team at training
Learn the Basic skills like passing, evasion and safe tackling (for older ages)
Play in a friendly environment with lots of help from coaches.
